Should’nt Apple have promoted this IPOD shuffle?…………….. i think the one they are selling at the moment is the wrong IPOD. This one(pix below) is the real IPOD (LOL)

Thomson Prometric!

There is one thing i definitely hate about my job at Thomson Prometric, and that is the fact that the registration booking system has been a pain in the ass recently. We basically use CARS which is a visual basic developed application for booking both car driving test and Health and safety test as well as other IT test. the other one is called Phoenix online and its a web application developed with asp.net for CITB health and safety.

It sure is a pain in the neck as it crashes virtually twice every week. The server always crashes whenever payment is been taking and this has a serious implication for the company. While i have worked here for almost 6 months, it has crashed about 25 different times ( i am not exagerrating) and i wonder what they are doing about it, despite loads of complaints to the call centre manager. I seem not to understand why they are sticking to asp.net as it has a lot of security glitches.

The funny thing is that the web administrator smiles away at the bank every month while we get a lot of bookings crashing.Thomson Prometric is a big company and i dont understand why they won’t change their booking system for CITB (i was told CITB wont bulge as well on the changes!) as this is causing a lot problem. Since they won’t listen to the series of complaint, i just felt like blogging about it since its my own blog, i can vent my anger, maybe my anger will subside. All this i hate about my Job, apart from that, every other thing is alrite. For now, i am thinking, trying to figure out a way forward. i may quit my job for another way too soon.

Expressions!

Its been about a month since i got a downloaded, full version of the styl-plus Album”Always on my Mind” is another love song that appeal to me as well as “Hadiza” which reminds me of those ‘yarinyan’ (Hausa name for ladies….lol) and my stay in Kano Nigeria. I wonder where they got that poor accented Hausa from, nevertheless, it was good. “Drives me crazy” (featuring 2shot and Big Lo) which the group claimed was a song they did when they discovered they were dating the same girl, is another hit track that i mime whenever i get on the Bus 219 from my street in openshaw manchester into the town centre every working morning.

Overall, my best track so far in the album is “Iya Basira” and i love this track to bits. The concept, the beats, the rantings and every other thing put together created a perfect track that suits me and i just can’t help but sing loud along on my MP3.

“Mase” is another cool track but i wont want to rate it generally since its a purely yoruba song, but its my second best while “ima” and “dont want to see you again” are also complements and make the album a perfect one.

Tunde has once again pull a stunt and he seem to have won my heart as the best voice in “mase”, Trust Zeal to be the hyperactive one on “iya Basira” and i just can’t help but laugh each time i listen to this track.

Shifi is still his old self with singing through his nose, nevertheless, hecommands a lot of musical ability and genuinety.Overall, i consider styl-plus as my favourite artiste and thats why i have dedicated this piece to them.Since i missed their last show at Stratford Rex in London, i have promised myself to turn up at any event they will be performing at as long as its in the UK.

I just hope one day, they will get down and update their site so that fans abroad can always access information regarding the music group.

Genievieve, did you see this?

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us While settling to work today and going through my daily morning exercise of checking my mails, viewing my blog( I do that every morning), reading the Nigerian news through www.skannet.com, checking my favourite artiste homepage (i am waiting endlessly for updates on www.styl-plus.com), checking my replied post on Nairaland (my most visited website), i can’t but stop at a thread that seems to bring me so much concern and that is the use of Genevieve Nnaji’s pictures for scamming. While i am not a great fan of Genevieve, I know personally that she is a brilliant actress who deserves a lot of respect and commands it respectively. but seeing her picture on the data page of an Ivorian International passport raise some security concerns. I sincerely wont be surprised if Genevieve walk through heathrow or JFK and is nabbed by the anti-crime squad because of evil perpetrated by scammers. i just could’nt stop to marvel at the great sense of intelligence as well as the dexterity in making sure pictures of her was lifted off www.aboutgenevieve.com and superimposing it on the photopage of the cote D’ivoire passport and changing the name to one “Beko Rosemary” with a date of birth 12/09/1982 in use for an advance fee fraud.Viewing the moral decadence in Nigeria as well as the ignorance in what scamming causes, i think more should be done to enlightening young people in Nigeria on the negativity of scamming and also the creation of jobs for young people. while i admit that my country is economically wrecked with an avalanche of political stupidity, i will still say that we enlightened young individuals should try as much as possible not to join the scamming train all in the name of making money. There are so many ways of making money online through egold, Google adsense and adwords, small privately owned business as well as selling of digital products, but all these are very patient method of making money and it last long for people who are into it. Good examples of people who have made it through such channels are seun of www.nairaland.com as well as some guy who owns www.epaynigeria.com . i am sure young people can always learn from their stories.
