Faze’s Video Collection: Kolomental, Need Somebody, Tatoo Girls, Kpo Kpo di po…

Ok………Big ups for “Faze. I have actually had a copy of his “Independence” Video collection given to me by a friend as a gift, but never had time to watch and review it until this morning.
The Kolomental video seem to be the most popular one as its already being aired on MTV and Channel O repeatedly as well as on local Nigerian Tv stations like Channells, AIT, MITV as well as SoundCity. It depicts a new trend in dance tracks as faze dishes out the craziness in Music. I personally believe that the concept behind the music is much more than Mental Craziness. It simply translated to “Dancing away your sorrows”

There is nothing as compelling as the reggae fused “Need somebody”. After copying the video to sit in my many achives of Music videos, I played this track over and over again till it started scratching. The reggae sytled beat further shows that Faze is such a talented and creative artiste. The video which was directed by “Wolf” has a tight storyline that can compete with most westernised Video. Even though the location isn’t Nigeria (it was South Africa), I particularly like the fact that it was a good video all through. The continuity was also flawless. Faze as well, did show some bit of compelling emotions and need i say that the pretty girl as the major cast was really really up to task.

Girl you need somebody
Somebody wey go hold you tight, All through the nite
Girl you need somebody
Somebody wey go treat you right, Respect a woman like you..
Girl you need somebody
Somebody wey go dry your eyes, whenever you cry
Girl you need someone like me…..

Those are really tight lyrics……Faze has it all

“Letter to my brother” is presumed by many fans to be Faze’s reply to Tuface’s “See me so” track. How true that is, is not known. However, it further reveals another picture of the Nigerian music scene that we do not seem to know.

Have you ever seen Faze breakdance before?…..If you have’nt then you’ve got to watch this video which was shot on the streets somewhere in the heart of Jo’Burg, southAfrica. This video which was directed by Tosin Igho is the best of all the video collection as it satisfies all my criteria for a good music video. Faze as well, did not fail to deliver with his charisma, he as well whistle that tune that most of us felt was a software creation. I need to say that the video is sure giving Tuface a run for his fame, as he’ll soon have to rush down to S.Africa for a make of his “see me so” video by thesame Tosin Igho.

Tatoo Girls will sure wreck a lot of havoc in Lagos,Nigeria. It sure will compell so many Nigerian babes to start getting tatoo stained on their revealing flesh as well as on the most appealing part of their skin so as to flaunt it. However, the tatoo track is well sequenced and the delivery was superb. Need i say that the video featured so many daringly beautiful girls……Newayz……Thats NB’s Opinion oooo….Lol

Where are the tatoo girls?…….Where dem dey?…………Faze…

With all these flawless musical creation, i have a urge in me to give Faze the best “R n B act. Even though he still has a bit of reggae fused into it. What do you all think?

2FAce: “As you see me so” Video

Tuface is set to bounce back again after rushing to the US to rest when he survived gun men attack. In the third week of November, the “African Queen” crooner is set to fly into southAfrica for the making of his “see me so” video shoot which is to be directed by Tosin Igho. I know that name does’nt ring a bell, but for those of us who have watched Faze’s “Kpo-Kpo-di-po”, then you would have marvel at the finesse and outstanding video direction and quality. Tosin Igho is the playmaker behind he creation of that video. I guess with this, Tuface is giving Faze a real run up.
Tuface on Stage
On another note, do not be surprised to hear a collab between Dbanj and 2face any moment from now. The duo both have something in common as they have both won the EMA best African act consecutively. As a passionate music lover myself, i wonder what sort of musical masterpiece this outstanding duo will drop on Air…..

Lets watch out for more……

NaijaBrains - Revised Theme

I decided to change my theme today. I have had this theme for quite a while on my server, but i guess it has some few viruses here and there that shows a scary picture of a weird looking hobbit each time i try to utilise the theme.I feel so tired from working tirelessly to remove the bugs. I am also tired from lack of sleep. All in all, I am glad, i got the whole Naijabrains Groove back. I need to go to bed……More post on NaijaMusic to come very soon…

Nigerian Movies…

I have been streaming videos on youtbue for the past couple of hours that i feel so dead tired. Howeer, a particular one did lightened my mood that i feel you all should have a feel of over the weekend. I know this has been on youtube for quite a while…..but it sure rejuvenates me…….Basket Mouth is sure a real Naija Comedian

Yahooze: The video, Styl-Plus Revamp and SoulE’s DENIAL…

I had so many of my readers protesting against my decision not to review the “Yahooze” Video. I have then decided to chip in my own piece:

I know I am so emotional when it comes to Naija’’s music. I fell in love with it when it was a new kid on the block. Most of my friends and colleagues who antagonized against Naija Music two years ago are now coming back to terms with it. Thank God for an unregulated platform for the artiste to showcase their stuffs.

I have never had to speak ill of any music video without a good reason. The first video that got a bashing from me was Styl-plus’s “Iya Basira” in which the styl-plus crew faltered by animating it, instead of using a proper Iya Basira kind of Buka. They ended up producing a whack video with no significance.

Another one that failed my pencil test is Olu’s “Yahooze” Video. Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying it’s a complete failure. Only that it could have been done in a better fashion.
I base my critiscm on various factors that ranges from video cquality, video concept, video delivery and the quality of video directing.

As if all the hummers in that video were not enough, the first 5 scenes were very scanty with only Olu posing in front of various hummers and cars. Need I say as well as at some point in the track that has a background voice bridge, DJTee ( The Director/CameraMan) failed to show up the face behind that voice. I know he is not the only director that does that. This is still a menace that needs to be cured with many Nigerian Music Video.

The video also lacked originality. There was a particular scene with group of guys sitting down on a sofa which is quite similar to another scene in “Ready to party” by weird MC, which was also directed by same DJTee.

Overall, the video had quite a high quality, with greenish scenery that depicts a natural beauty. Need I say as well that Olu’s Composure on the video was up to standard

Overall, I think DJ Tee needs to step up his game. Need I tell him that Uzodinma Okpechi (That’s his name Right?) Who did the Ruggedman’s “Baraje” video is a very talented guy that surpasses him. He needs to improve on his video production concept to justify the millions of Naira he charges. It is no news that he his set to shoot a particular video for 2shotz and I seriously will bash him again, if he produces a wacky video.

ANOTHER ISSUE ON SOULE:
It seems like so much odds are against my favourite Nigerian upcoming artiste. SoulE was expected to perform at the Gala Nite organized for the U-17 Golden Eaglets by the presidency a while ago, but the crooner was not even aware that he was invited. Rumour had it that he is expected to perform for N4Million Naira, due to his projection of Nigerian Image positively. In the long run, the show was contracted out to Olu Maintain for a meager N1.4Million. I guess Mr President liked the performance in the long run. Who won’t?……………..If our Dear president liked the yahooze style….

STYL-PLUS:
My favourite group has revamped their website. They now have various sections that include forums, fan base, Photo Gallery and News section. It sure is ten times better than the old website. You can as well download wall papers for your PC .

Between Faze and Tuface

Each time i argue with friends over the best between faze and tuface. I get a lot of bashing from popular sentiments of my colleagues who loved the African Queen crooner like mad. I have always maintained my stand that i still believe faze is more tight and vocally talented than tuface. While this post might create a lot of controversies, i must say that all this are my own opinion, based on facts available to me from the live performances, album reviews of both artiste.

There are basically two major songs i digg so much in Faze’s “Independent” and they are “kolomental” and “kpokpodikpo”. I believed the rythm of the song, the vocal performance as well as the harmonious rendition creates a perfectly prepared track. He went a step further with the “KpoKpodiKpo” Video which got on the 4th position on the MTV BASE chat. With an introduction of a perfectly choreographed street dance and a visually perfected scenery, Faze video track superceded my expectations as it sure ranks very high when compared with popular highly rated videos.

Tuface as well aint doing too bad. At least its good new that his videos have improved overtime as against his status. In all honesty, i have no beef for the hypertek Nigga. I’d tell you that his track that featured soulE as an intro is highly captivating and mind reeling. “True love” is another track that i love so much and i just can’t help but mime it over and over again each time i listen in on it. Need i say that his track titled “My Love” is wack(as far as i am concerned) as it features some rather controversial issues. Newayz……….i leave the discussion for another day as Nepa…..sorry….PHCN took the light and my battery power is nearly Down.

All in All……My point is this: Faze is vocally more talented and has a high musical worth(Not Cashworth) than Tuface.
Am i gonna get bashed?……….Please comment……..
