Wait 4 me…..

And i was searching for Dj Jimmy Jatt’s collab with Tuface when i found “wait for me”. I couldnt contain my excitement as i play the track again. Trust me, King sunny Ade and Onyeka Onwenu did their best lyrically and musically. Need i say that the video was bam as well. It was one of the tightest video’s in it days. After playing this over and over again, i could’nt help but feel nostalgic as memories of the early nineties flood my memory.

Considering the message in the song, it sure reflects the message of “Abstinence” when it comes to relationship. “If you love me, you wait for me”, proudly preaches a message of true love, as the facially young King sunny Ade beam with smiles as he dishes it out alongside Onyeka.

If i have to be proud of any of King Sunny Ade’s piece, this is sure the real McCoy, as it shows the soulful side of him. Onyeka Onwenu as well caught my heart. Even as a young African child, i grew up with this song as it was the toast of most record stores. I wish Onyeka Onwenu could alongside King Sunny Ade perform a remix of this track again to relive the old memory and probably donate the proceeds of its sale to any Hiv/Aids charity of their choice.

I did not get to watch the NMA awards live on TV, but i read the categories won in the newspaper. I must confess that it was all rubbish and did not meet my standard criteria.
Can someone tell me why the likes of “African Queen” won song of the decade, Sunny Nneji winning “Artiste of the decade” and the not too popular “Yinka davies” winning best female artiste of the decade. Where was Ego, where was lagbaja, where were the likes of konko Below and “Outta my mind” by plantashun boiz when the nominations were being presented. I guess they could not decipher the difference between Artiste of the year and the artiste of the decade. Me believe everyone has a right to their own opinion, and this is mine.
Once again, it shows that Nigerian Music is thinking sideways rather than forwardly………God help Tony okoroji

Fatai Rolling Dollar:Won Kere si Numba Wa…

And I delayed this post a bit. I felt compelled to write a piece on Fatai rolling dollar after watching “All life, All styles” anchored by Dare Art Alade on NTA.
Since the comeback of this exceptional musical maestro, I personally fell in love with every bit of his voice, charisma, guitar styles, beat streaming as well as his style of fashion. Little did many know that the 79 year old bouncing strong rolling dollar was the toast in those days when Chief Commander Ebenzer obey was under his tutelage.

After dong a comeback with his hit track “Won kere si numba wa”, he gained acceptance among young and old once again as its somehow considered a great feat for him to still have that much charisma, lyrical sense as well as a captivating voice.
While I consider King sunny Ade as one of the master guitarist that ever lived, I so much adorn Fatai with so much respect for his guitar strumming skills as well as his licks.

Baba wa se on gbo,
Baba funwa lomo rere
To ba funwa lomo rere,
Funwa lowo tia o fi se ke won….

I so much love the verse above, Fatai sure delivers it in a way that create an aura of a music veteran. Need I say that I love his kind of cap as well as his dress sense. Fatai rolling dollar sure occupies a space that cannot be filled or copied. For a 79 year old person, I have no doubt in me that he’ll continue to thrill the musical audience with more guitar licks, lyrical music as well a musical style that stand out from the crowd.

Rolling dollar is sure a king…………

Naija Video’s & The New Me

Naija music is part of me, and it will forever be. I cannot imagine not listening to NaijaMusic in a day. I simply think that I will run down. can you imagine that I basically watched some whole new set of music on Tv last week that make them to be always on my mind. I simply love every bit of couple of the new videos that I strongly believe that the entertainment Industry is going to a whole new dimensional Level. One of the things I look for in a good video is the story concept, video quality in terms of Camera quality as well as the directing. I guess that explains why I fell entirely in love with Ayo’s “Aremu jo” that I simply could’nt get it off my head. I guess I’ll have to check with my local vendor to see if I can get a CD that has her track on it.
Naydo did so well with “you could be” that I seem to wonder how fast young upcoming artist try to keep up with the trend in the industry.
The party Banga “Friday Nite” by black solo is also another hit that cannot be pushed aside. With good lyrics, good video and a musical rendition that surpass the common norm, it sure blew my mind and went straight behind”Aremu Jo” by Ayo.

Did anyone notice as well that Jeremiah Gyang did a different video entirely for “Nabaka” again? The one I am used to on Ben TV in London is different from the one I saw very recently.

While it ain’t any news that Faze is now under Convict music, I guess someone will tell him that he needs to improve on his video. I love Kolomental, as well as the video concept, but it seems that Faze prefers to use low quality camera for his video’s and that is telling on his image. Let’s hope that Convict Music will tush him up a bit.

While I have failed to review Tuface new Album recently, need I say that the animation for “for instance” is a very funny one. Am I the only person that thinks that the animated Tuface is more handsome than the real Tuface?………… Lol.
