Each time i listen to any Beautiful Nubia’s track, i can’t help but remember his track “Owuro lojo” which dominated the BCOS Ibadan n( Broadcasting corporation of oyo state) Breakfast show.
The track “Owuro lojo” is a clarion call for every abled bodied person to wake up early and make hay while the sun shines. The song which is one of the hit track goes thus:

Ojumo ti mo/
ara emi a gbera nile/
ise ti ya/
onise owo, onisowo/
egboran jigi katunramu/
onise owo/
alakowe, gbogbo eni to nwase/
omo ile-iwe ooo/
owuro lojo eni/
Eni marire/
Je a seba owuro/
That song, rich in yoruba culture and deep in the beliefs that “owuro lojo” is typical of beautiful nubia who is a deeply rooted Nigerian Musician who blend a mix of lush vocals, inspiring drums, as well as typical analogue recording.
From his Name(Beautiful Nubia) to his Albums(Awilele, jangbalajugbu, Fere e.t.c), and also his record label(Eniobanke) appears traditonallism. I have never seen a true man in his 40’s promoting the Yoruba culture that much through music.
With tracks like “oh what a feeling” which happens to be my favourite and which detailed the love of a man for a woman, “pass de calabash” which tells the story of Nigerian palmwine, “seven lifes” which speak on behalf of people who are surfering and “baba mimo” which is a prayer to God to teach us to love one another, is a a sure one to rip you off your sit.
He is back with his New album titled “Fere” and i just cant wait to lay my hands on it. Beautiful Nubia as a guitarist has won the heart of so many Nigerians especially students as well as adults alike. In my heart, this guy is sitted amongst great musicians of times which i considered to be “Baba Agba” of the music Industry amongst which are King sunny Ade, Fatai-rolling dollar, Orlandoh owoh, Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, Haruna Ishola e.t.c
I think its high time we all go back to our roots and dig deep into the good things about our cultures and try to uplift it. We have a culture, a rich one, a great one, better than the legacy the whites left us.

I agree with you Gbenga. Beautiful Nubia is one of the best things to have happened in our time and we must celebrate him and appreciate his immense worth as a wordsmith, philosopher, songwriter, musician and leader of thought.
Keep up the good work!
