MTEL Website hacked

While at work couple of minutes ago, Kazey brought my attention to something i wouldd’nt have discovered since i don’t visit telecommunication websites. The MTEL website has been hacked by Turkish hackers. Truthfully, i went to the MTEL website and i discovered it has been hacked. For a very big company like MTEL, i don’t expect their website to be hacked. I wonder when Nigerian Webmasters will place more priorites on internet security rather than designing pretty pages. I think i personally need to beef up mine here on NB so that i don’t get hacked as well! Please dont hack me ooooooooooooooo!……..I plead………for the sake of my blog readers and for my own sake!

Can Black shine? Part 1

Since the qualification of Ghana for the second round, i have had a feeling that they will shine once again. My only trouble is the fact that they will be facing the greatest footballing giant in history and this is telling on my faith. I am a patriotic African. I love virtually anything, as long as its black. Come to think of it, African Music, African Dishes, African dresses, African culture, African sport, and it is not a surprise that i am loving every minute of African football. Like Gbenga Sesan, my love for football will no doubt relapse after the world cup frenzy and i will  go back to patriotically supporting my Nigeria.

Having been at work most of the time Ghana played, i have not been able to watch the team’s performances closely, but nevetheless i still think that they are not up to match for the Brazilians. But who knows?………anything can happen. At least it did happened in Atlanta 96′ which was the first tournament i keenfully watched alongside Kayode Olumoroti( my cousin and football mentor)when Nigeria beat Brazil to win the Olympic cup. Is this another time for a triumph for Africa?…….will today be another turn over of celebration for Ghana?…………., will the black stars turn itself miraculously to a shiny one?…………I wait desperately for that moment( in about 4 hours) when the match will start and end. I wait to see if the black stars of Ghana will make the blackness of Africa shine again.

If they do, at least they will be the first African Nation to beat Brazil in a world cup. Ghana, please beat Brazil for us!

Javascript…..my tales!

My back is aching seriously, for the first time, i wrote a bug free javascript code and i am very excited about it. I have been learning the if……..and else conditional statement and everytime i am always writing wrong codes. Writing one that worked error free is a great relieve for me. Azuka has been a really good helping hand recently as he has encouraged me to learn one programming language at a time.
After sweating out my reading on http://www.w3schools.com/ and compiling(did i just say that?) my javascript code. i rested my aching back on the sofa and checked the time. it was 3.am in the morning. Azuka is still online and i am already watching the Intro interview of Commander Ebenezer Obey by DJ abass on BENTV.
I shut down my PC as i think into the future. I hoped and wished that programing will offer a solitude for my wandering mind.

Letter to my young self

I recently got this idea from adunni’s blog and i for once wondered what i will write if nature by any reason would allow me to write my younger self a letter. I will consider this piece a letter to my younger myself while i was 17. Here it is anyway:

Dear Young Gbenga, While i will congratulate you on your success as one of the best student in your school, i won’t but point out the fact that in the next couple of years, you will be faced with challenges of life. Challenges, young Gbenga is what i consider to be the essence of life. challenges ranging from finances, relationship, family ties and responsibilites, Goals setting in terms of Education. Knowing you fully well, my dear, i consider you to be a control freak who is not well organised.

i know as well that you are a brilliant chap who can sometimes be very lazy. All this weak points needs to be adressed and here are some few tips that i think, will help you out.Â

1. Avoid procrastination. Do what you have to do at the right time. Remember, early to bed, early to rise. You should put away the habit of postponing your assignments, your personal studies etc. it will affect your attitude towards more life pressing issues that concern you in the future.Â

2. Hard work does not kill a man, you have to stem up, remember, you are limted in resources financially. Make the best use of the money you earn working hard to fund all those goals and dreams you’ve always had at the back of your mind.Â

3.While i know that there is a girl you now fancy (you do don’t you?), it would be in your best interest to take it slow. While you are madly in love, i suggest you cool your head down and set your priorities right.Â

Falling in love is no crime, but its not a priority, i mean at least for now. Put other pressing issues forward first and let relationship come after.Â

4. Keep up your brilliancy, and don’t forget to improve on your arithmetic skills. you have a very bad arithmetic thinking ability, but like i earlier said, Hard work pays, and through working hard, you can be the best maths student.Â

5. Lastly, Be yourself. Doing you, should be what will get you where you going. Don’t try to copy someone else. You are a unique personality and nothing should stop you from been yourself. All this that i have summed are wise words that i feel you should ponder upon. Meditate upon it and it will make your path straight.Â

Your older self,

 Olugbenga

Eko ile!

i just couldnt sleep early last night. i kept on tossing on my bed which for a brief moment seems uncormfortable. I simply don’t have a reason for the insomnia, but i just felt the fact that having to start work the following day contributed to it.
I got off my bed to do my usual ritual of going downstairs into the living room and watching the TV whenever

i can’t sleep. while basking (sarcastically) in my failure to sleep, i switched on the TV to BENTV.

jazzman olofin

it was afrobeat air time on and a new track i was seeing for the first time was been aired. it was Jazzman olofin track featuring All-storm stars titled “Eko ile”. Being a Nigerian HipHop fan, i just couldn’t but gasp in awe at the quality of the video as well as jazzmans concept behind the story of “Eko”.

it also featured other artist which i esteem so much like Sasha, Dare art-Alade, Nkiru( a pretty lady like this that stole my attention), GT Guitar man( a new entrant who i has a great voice that i aspire and admire) as well as Jazzman himself. The lyrics of the song reflect life in Lagos, “A city where you need to walk sharp otherwise they think you need to be slapped around. The video which puts on footage of the popular oshodi reminds me of the good old times when i stayed in Lagos and all the hustling and bustling of the city with a population of 20 million people, is a sure bet as one of Jazzmans latest musical innovation.I couldnt but help miming the song until i slept of on the sofa in the living room. it was 6.00am when i woke up and i quickly rushed in to the shower to get prepared for the monday morning.

Apple, you got the wrong Ipod!

Should’nt Apple have promoted this IPOD shuffle?…………….. i think the one they are selling at the moment is the wrong IPOD. This one(pix below) is the real IPOD (LOL)
